I’ll go first to start a conversation! (since that is what WP is suggesting)
So, what do you mean by “slapping” the thunder? As in, counting out the distance that the storm is away from you?
Not sure what this is about…but the way we do it is that when you hear the slap of thunder you start counting…one thousand, two thousand….and when you see lightening then you stop. For each Thousand count – the storm is 1 mile away. Hope that helps.
Oh, wow, I haven’t replied to this. Sorry, Katherine! And thank you Jules for shedding the light on this. I really appreciate it. Well, since the “light” is a metaphor that I used to, roughly speaking, refer to anything “great, wonderful, beautiful, about peace, love,” something like that, and “thunder” is the opposite. I hope that makes sense, if at all.
