Hello my friends,

In Indonesia we have the proverb, “Jadilah engkau seperti padi. Makin berisi, makin merunduk“. The proverb  means ”Be like rice plant. The more it grows, the more it bends”.

Well, of course you all know what that translates into our life. We need to adopt a rice plant philosophy: the more knowledgeable, powerful, or well-off we are, the more humble we need to be.

But I am most certain that I am not knowledgeable, powerful, or even well-off.

I am just a man who’s striving to adopt the rice plant philosophy into his life.

Therefore I am humbly grateful for all the blessings that the blogging community have been pouring out onto me during my four month blogging experience. In the past eight weeks there are wonderful, lovely, gorgeous fellow bloggers who have awarded me with various awards. From the deepest of my heart, I would like to thank you all. :-)

    • Wow, I didn’t know the proverb means differently in different countries. As far as I know, that’s what it means in my home country. That’s what my grandmother used to tell me when I was a kid. But it’s great to know the difference.

      And yes, thank you for your reminder as well, Ronnie. I made a grammar error there “The more it grows the more it bents”, which should have been written “The more it grows the more it bends”.

    • Oh, wow! I didn’t know that. I thought that was originally from my country, coz that’s what my grandma used to tell me. Now I feel like an idiot who claims things belong to his homeland. Oh, boy!
