I Am A Sculptor
*
*
I am a sculptor, a molder of form.
In every moment I shape an idol.
But then, in front of you, I melt them down
*
I can rouse a hundred forms
and fill them with spirit,
but when I look into your face,
I want to throw them in the fire.
*
My souls spills into yours and is blended.
Because my soul has absorbed your fragrance,
I cherish it.
*
Every drop of blood I spill
informs the earth,
I merge with my Beloved
when I participate in love.
*
In this house of mud and water,
my heart has fallen to ruins.
*
Enter this house, my Love, or let me leave.

Hi Nenskei,
Thank you very much. Rumi deserves the credit, that’s for sure.

I recently finished reading some writings of Rumi…his prose is excellent (this one included in your post as well!).
Thank you Frances.
Which one is it that have you just recently finished? Matsnawi or Divani Tabriz?
Subhan Zein
Oh my god…. I love this! And I always loved Rumi. You should check a Facebook website which has his poems and quotes published with really good pictures:

Wonderful, passionate love poem, with lots of excellent word imagery to bring the reader right into this scene where the sculptor declares his love.

Yes, I know. Rumi was a passionate lover. He’s an awesome poet!

Muchas Gracias, Bonita! Have a look at my other post: “Your Beautiful Eyes”. Hope you like it as much as you do with this.
And how are you up there? Is everything you have in your life in Spain okay?
Subhan Zein
you are an artist and a very sweet lover.
Hang On, Sharmishta, I don’t think I deserve the credit. The poem was written by Rumi. I am just the vessel.
If you’re looking for my poems, check these out: “Your Name is Beautifully Crafted”, “A Great Delight”, “Your Heart is My Favorite Playground”, and “Love is a Heart Throbbing Joyride”. Hope you enjoy them!

i have been reading a handful of your poems, they are amazing.
well you did not write this one, what about the picture created by the words?
Oh, Rumi’s name as the author of the poem is clearly stated in both the picture and the last line I provided. And the picture comes from Haqqanism blogspot. If you move your cursor to the picture then it should tell you the title of the picture as well as where it comes from.

Have always being a great fan of Rumi…every word a mantra for beautiful life…That image is one of the most stunning I have ever seen….
Thank you, Soma! I’m a big fan of Rumi myself. It’s great to find another fan of Rumi. Yay!
Subhan Zein
As Soma said, “…every word a mantra for beautiful life”. That is Rumi. It interests me how the Dervish elevates the asceticism of the Mendicant to a level of joy that is absent anywhere else in the realm of asceticism. This is a beautiful post. Thank you.
