Thank you very much for your being thoughtful! I really appreciate it. I am now healing the wounds, amidst all the routines at work and study that I have to work on. It’s not easy, but I’m trying. So please keep praying for me, my dear.

Akang tentu tahu kalau puisi adalah curahan isi hati. Untuk mencurahkan sesuatu kita harus bisa merasakan sesuatu. Kita harus melatih kepekaan. Melatih kepekaan bisa dilakukan dengan banyak hal, seperti misalnya duduk di depan danau untuk menikmati riak air. Ini yang paling sering saya lakukan. Buat orang lain, mereka senang mendaki gunung atau menyusuri lembah. Kebersatuan dengan alam terbukti memberikan kita unsur kepekaan jiwa yang lebih halus. Coba deh, Akang lakukan.
Selain itu, kalau mau menulis puisi dalam bahasa Inggris, maka ya, tentu saja, kita harus meningkatkan kemampuan kita berbahasa Inggris. Tidak harus kuliah, tapi minimal tahu kaidah gramatika dan belajar banyak dari membaca. Saya pernah kuliah Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris, namun hanya diajari menganalisa karya sastra, tidak pernah diajari menulis sastra. Jadi apa yang saya lakukan selama ini hanyalah dari berlatih sendiri.
Bagaimana caranya? Banyak membaca. Saya senang membaca karya-karya berbahasa Inggris milik Jalaluddin Rumi, Rabindranath Tagore, Khalil Gibran, John Milton, William Wordsworth, Thomas Hardy, dan sebagainya. Dari membaca karya mereka jiwa seni kita terasah. Membaca karya mereka bukan berarti mengikuti mereka, tapi menjadikan mereka role model buat kita, sehingga suatu saat inshaallah kita bisa menghasilkan karya seni seperti mereka.
Setelah itu Akang bisa mencoba-coba membuat puisi sedikit, demi sedikit, inshaallah hasilnya akan baik seiring berjalannya waktu.
Di zaman yang serba canggih seperti sekarang tidak ada lagi kesulitan untuk menemukan karya-karya para penulis besar, karena hampir semuanya sudah bisa dinikmati secara online, dengan gratis pula. Tinggal Google.
Baik, semoga uraian saya menjawab pertanyaan Akang yah. Terus berlatih, dan selamat berkarya! Untuk Indonesia yang lebih baik!

saya belajar english tu cuma modal suka. akhirnya belajar dari film2 barat yang ber text, dikit2 tp lama2 kan jd bukit.
cuma, gaya bahasanya masih amburadul ya mas?
coba deh mas lihat postingan saya.
saya bikin puisi pake bahasa indonesia dulu, terus saya terjemahkan. klo langsung pake english,otaknye blm nyampe.. lol
yah, namanya juga belajar.
saya butuh kritik membangun mas,, klo dikampung sy nie (cikampek) ngomong bhasa asing malah dibilang sok sok an, jadi susah berkembang.
nah saya cuba2 bikin lah blog untuk menyalurkan kesukaan saya.

Coba baca puisi2-nya Gibran dan Rumi dulu, untuk melatih kepekaan yah. Inshaallah nanti dari situ Akang bisa mengasah rasa untuk kepekaan menulis puisi..
